A licensed clinical professional counselor, Beth has more than 20 years experience with individual and group counseling. She helps students with personal growth issues, such as college adjustment, relationships, stress management, study skills and time management, attention deficit disorder, conflict mediation, substance abuse, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and sexual assault and abuse.

Beth on What You Can Expect From Counseling:

"During the first appointment you will fill out a Basic Information Form, which includes a confidentiality statement and a consent agreement. Then we will discuss the purpose of your visit, define goals and develop strategies to address your concerns. To best meet the needs of each client, I use an eclectic style of therapy, drawing from a variety of theories and practices. For many students having a safe, confidential place to sort through their concerns when going through a stressful experience is enormously helpful. Most students find they can resolve their issues within one to five sessions; others like an ongoing relationship with a counselor and return periodically throughout the year."

No fee is charged for the initial appointment. For subsequent visits, students will be charged only a one-time fee of $40 that entitles them to a wide range of services at the CHD until they graduate or leave UMF.
