GRE Subject Test Information

GRE Subject Tests are required for admission to many highly selective doctoral (Ph.D.) programs. Graduate Programs that require submission of GRE Subject Test scores also may require submission of GRE General Test scores. The GRE Subject Tests are content-specific exams; for instance, the GRE Subject Test in Psychology focuses exclusively on Psychology-related questions. There are currently eight GRE Subject Tests: Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology (one exam); Biology; Chemistry; Computer Science; Literature in English; Mathematics; Physics; and Psychology. You only need to complete a GRE Subject Test if A) the graduate schools to which you are applying require it and B) if the academic discipline in which you plan to earn advanced degree matches one of the GRE Subject Tests listed above. See the links in the drop-down menu above more information on GRE Subject Tests.
