For students whose occupational choices have already been narrowed to a very small number of specific occupations (1 or 2), it can prove very useful to observe professionals working in these environments.  As the observations are made, students should ask themselves simple but important questions: Can I see myself doing this job?  Would I be good at it?  Would I like it?  The answers to these questions are critically instructive to students, moving them toward or away from particular occupations.
